Better Botanicals Moisturizers

I had near flawless skin in high school. I know. Go ahead and hate me. Surprisingly, in the past few years I’ve been prone to breakouts and clogged pores. I would have much rather gone through this is high school and have it all behind me.
My skin is dry and sensitive, which sets off a vicious cycle. Lotion, even the stuff that claims to be non-comedogenic, clogs my pores or otherwise irritates my skin, but if I don’t use it my skin gets flaky and red. Better Botanicals Dandelion Moisturizer has stopped the cycle.
I’m going to be straight with you. The first week of using this lotion was not pretty. It was like every clog and pending pimple lying dormant in my skin was fighting to get to the surface at once, but even as my skin was breaking out, the blemishes were healing quickly. I stuck with it, and I’m very glad I did. Over a month later, not only is my skin clearer, but my dry patches are gone. And I’m so in love with the healthy glow my skin has that I haven’t worn foundation or concealer in weeks.
I was so thrilled with the Dandelion moisturizer (for normal to dry skin) that I decided to get the Sandalwood moisturizer (for normal to oily skin) for my husband. The Sandalwood moisturizer immediately cleared and calmed his skin, and he didn’t go through the same adjustment period. I tried his moisturizer for a few days, but it isn’t right for my skin type, and I ended up switching back.
Better Botanicals uses Ayurvedic principles in formulating their treatments:
“Ayurveda views life as an interrelationship between physical processes, external factors and emotions. Health is maintained by the balance of three energies present in all living things: Kapha (earth/matter), Vata (air/movement) and Pitta (fire/transformation). These energies are in a constant state of flux. “
Plus, Better Botanicals products do not contain parabens or synthetic fragrances. These moisturizers are both very fragrant, but the scent comes from the natural ingredients. They are pleasant, but strong and take a few days to get used to.
I’m really excited about the results of the Dandelion moisturizer and glad I stuck with it. I can’t wait to try the rest of the Better Botanicals product line.

Whoa, it’s me again! But I love reading your posts (and to think it was the Lavera eye pencil info that lead me here), especially this one. We share the same problem. Started getting breakouts at…30. Sheesh. So I’ll start looking for this product now. Thanks again!
Hi Bea! Glad you’re enjoying the site! 30 must be the magic number or something. So frustrating!
I just added your site to my links page. I love it!
Wow! Thanks for adding me! I hadn’t been online for quite some time and now that I am, I’ll be adding yours to my site as well. This is a very helpful site and I hope my readers will get the same kind of help I got from it. Thanks.
[...] Better Botanicals Moisturizers – Both my husband and I are hooked on these moisturizers. This is the first winter ever that I haven’t been fighting dry flaky skin on my face. [...]
It states above that Better Botanicals Sandalwood Moisturizer does NOT contain parabens, but if you go to the Vitamin Shoppe’s website, it clearing states that it does in fact contain BOTH poly- and methy- parabens.
So does it or doesn’t it?
You know, I JUST put the box for my husband’s Sandalwood Moisturizer out in the recycling, and they JUST came around and took it like five minutes ago! The tube doesn’t have the ingredients on it. I looked up the ingredients on my box of the Dandelion Moisturizer and it doesn’t have parabens listed — even though the Vitamin Shoppe website says it contains parabens.
I have a call in to Better Botanicals. Let’s see if they get back to us.
Thanks for being on top of this. I’d like to know what’s going on with it too!
Thanks for the quick response. I love the product but vowed not to use anything containing parabens and would appreciate it if you would let me know.
Thanks.
