Favorite Products of 2007 - Beauty

I tried out some great stuff last year. I switched over almost all of my personal care products to ones that are free of parabens, sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate, and phthalates. Here are my top three picks.
- Better Botanicals Moisturizers – Both my husband and I are hooked on these moisturizers. This is the first winter ever that I haven’t been fighting dry flaky skin on my face.
- Nourish Organic Wild Greens 2 in 1 Cleanser — I love the woodsy scent, and they way it leaves my skin feeling clean and . . . well, nourished. My husband is still adjusting to the fact that it doesn’t foam, but suds don’t equal clean.
- Lavera Naturkosmetic Eyeliner - The best eyeliner I’ve ever used AND it’s organic, free from icky ingredients and not tested on animals. This stuff is awesome. I brush a little brown eyeshadow over it when I’m done lining, and it doesn’t run. No raccoon eyes. Not that raccoons aren’t cute . . .

I can’t say that #3 really applies to me, except maybe around Halloween.
However, I think I got the idea from your site to use conditioner instead of shampoo (and of course I chose one that is mainly made from organic lavender) and it’s worked out extremely well. Lavender is a mild astringent, so it actually cleans but isn’t harsh like shampoo can be. I’m using a variety of Nature’s Gate that does have parabens, but I figure when it runs out I’ll try something else. Shampoo has just never treated me that well. Thanks for the tip.

I’m glad the tip helped! You’d think just using conditioner would make your hair all greasy, but it just isn’t the case. It’s weird, all the things we think we need . . .
I’m a big lavender fan. I didn’t realize it was a natural astringent. That’s really cool!

I LOVE Desert Essence’s line of lotions, particularly the coconut one. They’re organic and they smell divine! Also, the smell isn’t overpowering like those stupid Bath and Body products.

Ooh, I’ll have to check that out. I love coconut scented stuff. Thanks, Melissa!
