You know how magazines always have quizzes with questions like, “If you were stranded on a desert island and could only have one item of makeup with you, what would it be?” Well, for me it would be eyeliner, but not just any eyeliner, Lavera Naturkosmetik Eyeliner.

All Lavera cosmetic and skincare products are:

    • Designed for sensitive skin
    • Made with organic plant oils, instead of mineral oils
    • Made with organic herb and flower extracts
    • Cruelty Free
    • Free from parabens and synthetic preservatives
    • Free from fragrances emulsifiers and petroleum

I have the eyeliner in No. 2 Brown. It goes on smoothly, doesn’t smudge or weep throughout the day, but comes off easily with a mild cleanser. It layers well, allowing variation in color — go for a lighter, subtle look, or a dramatic dark line.

I don’t want to mess around with harsh chemicals or potential carcinogens, especially when it comes to my eyes.

And, if I ever were stranded on a desert island with my eyeliner, I could also use to to write a message to shove in a bottle and throw out to sea.

      1. The only Lavera shop in my country has limited stocks. It’s really frustrating. I wonder if there’s another alternative.

      2. I know they sell through a lot of other stores (online and actual stores). I bought my eyeliner at a high end grocery store. But if you go to the US store, find what you want, and then do a search for that product, you might find another store that stocks it. Good luck!

      3. Most of the online stores I find can’t ship internationally, though. I’m actually thinking of actually going to the US and getting it there. Or order it online and have it shipped to a relative in the US. This review is quite helpful, though. I’ve been drooling over Lavera’s site but I wanted to make sure somebody could vouch for their eyeliner. I’m currently using Shu Uemura and though I love the fact that it glides over my skin, it’s not organic.

      Tip of the Day

      Fan Dancing

Noelle commented in regards to Umbra’s post on fans and air conditioners:

“Query about fans, Allie who always has the answer: I’m fan cooled in my house, I have those window numbers that do both intake and outtake. I leave them on the lowest level of outtake during the day to keep the air from getting stagnant in the house. It works really well, but Umbra says not to do it. Now I’m all conflicted, because stagnant air is like death, and those fans seem to be doing a great job during the day.

Oh and she’s right, I’ve got an exhaust fan in my roof, and it’s marvelous.”

      I thought I was stumped.

One of the best ways to stay cool is not to let yourself get too hot to begin with.  But Umbra is right about the energy use.  But walking into a house full of hot air is going to totally make anyone lose their cool.  But the energy use. . .

Completely and totally stumped.  Then just before I fell asleep last night, I had an idea.
