On the same day that I used up the very last bit of my beloved Badger Lip Balm Stick, a friend gave me a tube of Vanilla Organic Hemp Balm from The Merry Hempsters in a holiday gift.  Such luck!

I’d never heard of The Merry Hempsters before, but they’re a pretty cool company:

The Merry Hempsters are dedicated to promoting the extraordinary benefits of Cannabis Sativa seed oil (hemp seed oil) through the production of uniquely effective and environmentally friendly products. We use only the finest quality natural ingredients in combination with cutting edge eco-friendly packaging. Effective natural body care products in concert with the environmental sustainability of our ingredients and packaging are core concepts in our mission.”

I’m loving this lip balm.  My lips tend to crack in the winter, but this stuff is doing the trick.  It’s smooth, thick and long lasting, without being sticky or greasy.  It has a warm vanilla scent that isn’t overpowering, and it’s all organic and certified by Oregon Tilth.  And no, it won’t get you stoned.

Tip of the Day

Reuse Gift Wrap

Did you have a family member who sat in the corner at a party or holiday event, carefully folding up wrapping paper for future use? Maybe it was a grandma or great aunt who lived through the Depression and learned to save anything that was usable, maybe it was just someone who was thrifty and knew how to pinch pennies. What ever the reason behind it, saving wrapping paper makes good green sense.
