Austin PSAs were pitching tree-mulching this past weekend--I don't know if you could pick up a tree's worth of mulch on the same visit as the drop-off, but they are planning on giving away the mulch made from the Xmas trees.

I am trying so hard to get rid of things that I don't regularly use. I tend to hang on to everything "just in case" and it's making me insane! I can't wait to have a clutter-free house. Should be sometime in the next twenty years!

I know that they have a recycling drop box for old phones at my AT&T store. I'm not sure if they do it at every location, though.

I've never been annoyed by carabiner before. Except for right now, when Firefox won't recognize it as a correctly spelled word.

The overuse of "green" is annoying to me, but mostly when I know that it's just being used to make something look more "green" than it is.

I layer my crystal (applied first) with a natural deodorant (applied when the first dries). Seems to work better than with just one product alone. I also regrettably tend to use a commercial, but talc free antiperspirant for busy work days and hot dates--no pun intended.

I'm planning on taking the tree (if I ever get it down) to a local nature center that's using them for either nesting birds or chipping them up for mulch.

I'm also planning to send some old electronic-related waste off to a specialty recycling center. Stuff like old jewel cases, old computer cords and software, etc. I think I found a place online that will take all that, but if you're familiar with any places, I'm open to suggestions.

I headed to the basement to start sorting boxes left mostly untouched since we moved in this past summer. I only got through a third of it but I stopped so I could sort it into Goodwill, Freecyle and sell piles. The piles contained assorted clothes, kitchen gear, sports gear, and small electronics. I also have enough random wires and plugs to repel off the Empire State Building. Yet I'm hesistant to throw any out until I've sorted everything and made sure they don't belong to something we are keeping.

I'm hoping to take the money I make from selling stuff and buy myself a nice used sewing machine, having a goal and reward helps me keep at it. Otherwise everything would probably stay in boxes.

When Jaxsun was alive we fed him Eagle Brand because he had hot spot issues. We gave him lots of turkey, chicken, and beef, not to mention veggies, and his hot spots cleared up. If I were to get another dog I'd go the BARF route because it's easier, I think, to make up their meals because then I know what's in them.

As for treats, I gave him <a href="http://www.oldmotherhubbard.com/" rel="nofollow">Old Mother Hubbard</a> dog biscuits, specifically <a href="http://www.oldmotherhubbard.com/products_extra_tasty_biscuits.html" rel="nofollow">these</a>. He adored them. I know they have flour in them but his issue was corn based and not flour based.

Aside from the Old Mother Hubbards I gave him a cow femur pretty regularly. This kept him busy and sharpened his three canine teeth (he lost one in a dog fight.) I knew what was in the cow femur was and where it came from. And it made him as happy as a ... dog with a bone. Have you considered giving Stella and Argo femurs? Also, I gave Jaxsun chicken bones/carcasses often. We've been told not to give them to dogs because they'll choke but have you ever heard of a fox choking on a chicken bone? Jaxsun outweighed fox by about 50 pounds (he was a large Siberian Husky). I figured the rumor about choking dogs was started by the dog food industry and paid it no mind. Never once did he have a problem.

Thanks for the shout out, by the way. I appreciate the kind words!
