My fourth grade reading glasses looked frighteningly similar to the ones Angela wore on Who’s the Boss. I had a pair in high school that had faux denim frames. Then there were the Lisa Loeb glasses in college . . .
And those are only a few highlights in the list of hideous glasses I have owned. If you, like me, have four eyes, you probably have some equally out of fashion glasses in your past, or maybe even in your closet or junk drawer. Read more…

Libraries are the ultimate reusing resource. Books, magazines, CD’s, DVD’s, videotapes, and newspapers are some of the items available for use at your public library. My local library also has framed artwork available for loan and a coupon swap box.
Check out your local library to see what they have available. The next time you’re about to purchase books, music, or movies, see if the library has it first. In addition to being green, using the local library is a great way to support your community and save money.

Take a look at the ingredients in your favorite hand lotion, conditioner, soap, cosmetics and mouthwash. Do the ingredients list methylparaben, ethylparaben, propylparaben, or butylparaben? You may also see isobutyl-, isopropyl-, or benzylparaben on the list, but those are less commonly used ingredients.
Parabens are used as preservatives to inhibit mold and bacteria growth. This may sound like good thing, but there’s a lot of controversy about the use of parabens in personal care products. Here’s why.

My second grade teacher told us that back in colonial times it was considered bad luck to sleep with the closet doors open. Ever since then, I have to close every closet in the house before I go to sleep.
