Dagoba is my kind of company. Right on the wrapper on my xocolatl bar it says, “Chocolate is sacred.”

Yup, their priorities jive with mine.

I also love that they practice what they call “Full Circle Sustainability,” honoring quality, ecology, equity, and community as the foundation of their company. The cacao in their products is organic and sustainably grown, and fairly traded with cooperative farms.  They also work to fund reforestation and ecology research projects in Costa Rica.

And, wow, do they make good chocolate!

xocolatl is their interpretation of the drink made for Aztec gods. It’s 74% cacao dark chocolate with chilies and cacao nibs. Yes, you read that right. Chilies.

The chocolate is rich and full-bodied with the slightest zing of spicy heat. The cacao nibs add a satisfying crunch. It’s perfect for savoring. A tiny piece will satisfy even the worst chocolate craving. It is sacred.

And I just found out that they make xocolatl hot chocolate too. I can’t wait for the weather to get a little chilly!
