If you want to add green tea to your diet, but can’t stand the harsh, bitter green tea taste, Rishi Tea’s 100% Organic Jade Cloud tea is one to try.

It has a mild, smooth taste and doesn’t get bitter even if you leave it to steep for too long.

Jade Cloud is a special grade of Chinese green tea produced in the higher elevation tea gardens of western Hubei, China. Each year, our Jade Cloud is carefully selected from the farmer’s earliest batches of spring tea. Organic Jade Cloud has a mellow and refreshing character that’s smooth with low astringency. Jade Cloud’s aroma suggests sweetly toasted chestnut and bluegrass.”

It’s fair trade certified and certified organic.  And, according to Rishi, green tea has more antioxidants than wine and most fruits and veggies, but is calorie-free.

At about 8 dollars for a 2.75 oz tin, I thought this was pricey.  Then I read on the label that one serving of Jade Cloud tea can be steeped 3 times.  While many teas taste bitter and/or weak after one steeping, this tea makes a great cup every time.  I’ll make a cup to drink warm with breakfast and then steep two more servings to store in the fridge for iced tea later in the day.  It’s great alone, or with a little lemon and honey or agave syrup.

  2. It’s so convenient to just get a refill of hot water. And I actually leave my steeper thingy in the tea while I drink it a lot of times. I’m so impressed that it doesn’t get bitter.

Tip of the Day

Reuse Gift Wrap

Did you have a family member who sat in the corner at a party or holiday event, carefully folding up wrapping paper for future use? Maybe it was a grandma or great aunt who lived through the Depression and learned to save anything that was usable, maybe it was just someone who was thrifty and knew how to pinch pennies. What ever the reason behind it, saving wrapping paper makes good green sense.
