R.W. Knudsen Cranberry Blueberry Juice

I like to throw a few splashes of unsweetened cranberry juice in a tall glass of ice water or seltzer. It’s so much more refreshing than just plain water and it’s good for you. But it’s hard to find unsweetened cranberry juice. Most of the familiar brands on the market have sweeteners like High Fructose Corn Syrup.

Our local health food store carries unsweetened cranberry juice, but it’s expensive. At six dollars a bottle, I felt like it was a worthy indulgence from time to time. But when it went up to eight dollars a bottle (is there a cranberry shortage I haven’t heard about?), I decided to pass. Instead, I bought R.W. Knudsen Organic Cranberry Blueberry Juice. I guess blueberries aren’t as costly as cranberries, because it was under four dollars.

It’s more concentrated than most juices, so you can water it down a bit, or mix it with iced tea, and the bottle will last longer. It’s sweet, but not too sweet, and the ingredients are all simple and pronounceable: Filtered Water, Organic Apple Juice Concentrate, Organic Blueberry Puree, Organic Cranberry and Organic Lemon Juice Concentrates, Natural Flavors.

After the juice is gone, save the bottle. It’s the perfect size for brewing iced tea.

  1. I love this juice. The empty bottles are also great to take to work and I can measure how much water I’m drinking throughout the day.

Reuse Gift Wrap

Did you have a family member who sat in the corner at a party or holiday event, carefully folding up wrapping paper for future use? Maybe it was a grandma or great aunt who lived through the Depression and learned to save anything that was usable, maybe it was just someone who was thrifty and knew how to pinch pennies. What ever the reason behind it, saving wrapping paper makes good green sense.
