I hate to clean, I put my feet on the furniture, I’m prone to spilling things, my pets are messy and yet, I have a hard time getting other things done when the house is a mess.  So, when I clean, I want to use products that are safe, reliable, easy to use, and effective.

Here are my top three picks:

1. Anything by Ecover — I just couldn’t narrow this down to three without making Ecover one category.  Their products smell amazing, work as well or better than conventional cleaners, are about the same price as regular name brand products, and have minimal impact on the environment.  And they’ve been recognized by the United Nations for their achievements in protecting and improving the environment.  In 2007, I reviewed their delicate wash, dishwashing liquid, dishwashing tablets, toilet bowl cleaner, and glass and surface cleaner.  Look for more Ecover product reviews in 2008, because if they make it, I want to try it.  And I haven’t found a bad one yet.
2. Method Wood for Good Floor Care — A product that makes me WANT to mop the floors is a good good thing.  I love the way our house smells after I use this stuff, and I’m impressed with how it can make even our tired old wood floors look good.
3. Parsley Plus All Surface Cleaner — This stuff works wonderfully, and the clean fresh smell brightens up the kitchen and neutralizes other odors.
