Since I was hosting Carnival of the Green here yesterday, I didn’t post the usual Meat-Free Mondays post.  Last week, two of my favorite bloggers posted meat-free recipes, and I wanted to mention them here.  So I’m a day late, but you’re getting two for the price of one.  And since the price is free, it’s an awesome deal for you.  :)

Noelle at The Daily Tannenbaum made Vegan Hungarian Goulash.  And you thought it couldn’t be done!  Well, I thought it couldn’t be done!  But she did it, and it looks good!

And Mrs. Twink from My So-Called Wedded Life made Creole Stuffed Peppers.  I need to go out and talk to my pepper plants and give them a bit of encouragement so I can whip this up for dinner sometime soon.

  1. I’ve got a meat-free challenge/request for you. . . .

I’m not a vegetarian, but I limit my meat intake. While I have plenty of good vegetarian recipes and I make a mean black bean burrito, I’m always looking for cold meat-free pasta ideas. I love cold sesame noodles, but that’s about the only really excellent recipe I’ve found.

Here’s what makes it difficult: I hate cheese. HATE it, in any form, and most veggie pasta dishes include it.

    Got any ideas?
    Thanks!

  2. Thanks for the shout-out! And since you’re promoting yourself, I might as well use my own blog to answer Amy’s question, because the first dish I made for Whip It Up was pasta, and it was super delicious the next day when I ate it cold. The recipe is here: http://dailytannenbaum.com/2008/07/01/whip-it-up-1-summer-pasta/

Melt Down Old Candles

If you light candles in your house, you’ll know that there’s a point where there’s still wax left, but the wick is gone.  Recycle the wax and make new candles!
