Peter Mulvey’s ‘Look Ma, No Gasoline’ Tour

After driving 60-70,000 miles a year for ten years, touring singer/songwriter, Peter Mulvey has opted to leave his car at home while promoting his new album, Knuckleball Suite.

Tomorrow, Peter will leave his home in Milwaukee on bicycle, kicking off his ‘Look Ma, No Gasoline’ Tour. He’ll bike a total of over 300 miles, from Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, to Madison, Green Lake, a few central Wisconsin college towns, and then down the shore of Lake Michigan, back to Milwaukee.

“On the longer distances, or if it rains, I might be cursing myself. But honestly, I haven’t regretted a minute I’ve spent on a bicycle. And while I love to drive, I’ve become increasingly conscious of just how much gas I’m burning. If I care about this place — and I do — it’s time to try something different. Besides, Wisconsin in September is awfully pretty. I’m looking forward to seeing it at a more human pace.”

If you’re in Wisconsin, check him out. He’s an amazing performer, and even if he’s a little tired from all of that biking, he’s sure to put on an incredible show. One dollar from every ticket sold will be donated to the Urban Ecology Center.

For those of us who aren’t lucky enough to live in Wisconsin, we can keep track of his bike tour experience here.
