  1. P&G reminds me of Mr. Burns from the Simpsons. No matter what they try to do, they mess it up.

  3. I’m digging all this hair talk this week. I enjoyed skimming (I’m short on time this week!) the Fake Plastic Fish articles on shaving. Truth be told, ever since I started taking pilates I started shaving pretty much every other day. No real reason. No one touches me during the classes, no one is paying attention to my leg hair or whether or not I shaved my pits. Most of the people in the classes are significantly older than me and are happy to just be touching their own toes. Still, I’m hooked on having shaved legs. My point: I could care less if people shave or don’t shave, as long as they don’t buy into the crock that you have to replace your razor every 2 times you use it. Good grief! I can go 3 weeks on one blade and still be fine. I’ve had the same razor for 7 years. Seriously, 7 whole years. I just replace the blade once a month. Still works. I don’t buy into the need for a closer shave, cause frankly, if I’m spending that much time thinking about the stubble on my knees, I have other problems.

There’s my long rant. I could have actually read that article had I decided not to comment here!

  4. i left a comment about shaving on that site, anyone interested.

thanks for the info Allie. hearing more and more about children’s toys really bothers me as my nephew, 4, is surrounded by plastics and his parents either a) ignore the facts b) don’t know the facts c) don’t want to educate themselves on the facts and or any possible combination of those factors. I’ve tried sending them info before and they do not respond. In the past, we’ve talked to them about cars, recycling and such, but to no avail. Then they had a child, so we’d already blew our chances of changing their minds…so it kills me that i am sort of helpless to help him, an innocent 4 year old sleeping in flame retardant sheets on flame retardant mattresses and surrounded by possible toxic toys.

    Argh!

  5. I am a fanatic about shaving. When I hurt my back a few years ago, I couldn’t shave my legs and I went NUTS. I wish I could let it go, but I can’t.

Erikka — It’s so hard to tell people what they don’t want to hear. But the idea of a little kid sleeping in chemicals makes me cringe. I hate to think about all the stuff we came into contact with. They’re testing all these toys today for lead, but I wonder how safe our Weebles were.

Melt Down Old Candles

If you light candles in your house, you’ll know that there’s a point where there’s still wax left, but the wick is gone.  Recycle the wax and make new candles!
