Green Chic Tip of the Day - Go Polish Free
Posted on March 20, 2008 by

If you can’t bear the idea of giving up manicures and pedicures, follow the advice from Green Chic: Saving the Earth in Style and go polish free. You can still get your nails professionally trimmed and shaped and buffed. You’ll walk away with great looking natural nails without all the toxins.
Thanks to Carrie at Sourcebooks, I now have three copies of Green Chic to give away. Find out how to enter and post your comments after the jump.
I enjoyed reading my copy of Green Chic, and in the spirit of being eco-friendly, I’d like to pass it (and two additional copies from Sourcebooks!) on for someone else to read. For the rest of the week, I’m going to make the Tip of the Day a tip from Green Chic.
Sign in with a valid e-mail address to comment on the Green Chic Tip of the Day posts from Tuesday, March 18th through Friday, March 21st. For each comment, you’ll get an entry (one per day, please). The giveaway will close on Sunday, March 23, at noon (Eastern), and I’ll draw three names out of a hat to determine the winners. The winners will be announced on Monday, March 24th. Comments that appear to be spam will not be counted.
Anyone can enter, so don’t hesitate to leave a comment.
Good luck!
CONTEST CLOSED 3/23/2008

I’ve heard there are earth-friendly polishes, though I don’t remember who makes them.
I love the idea of this book…I’m still a bit too girly to give up some of my favorite things…this makes it easy
That helps people like me who always chip the polish off within the first 2 hours.
Sigh. This one is hard for me. I almost never get manicures, but I paint my nails so I won’t put them in my mouth. (I’m a former nail-biter.) Maybe I need to find a line of eco-friendly polish. If anyone has recommendations, I’m open to any and all suggestions.
It might not mean stopping something you like completely, Rachel. But moderation. Or is that just being weak…?
I’ve always prefered buffed nails on my fingers, but I usually put color on my toes. They’re bare right now, tho’.
Yeah, I’m a nail polish chipper. I do like to paint my toenails though. I keep seeing some polish at our natural foods store. I’ll have to test it out.
This is going to be a hard one with barefoot weather coming up. I don’t really paint my fingernails, but I always keep my toes nicely polished through the summer. Maybe I can cut back to just using it on special occasions.
