Jump Start to Green - Turn the Water Heater Down

If you have kids, you may have already done this to prevent scalding injuries, but if you haven’t, you might want to take a look at your water heater setting. 

Jump Start to Green says that often the initial setting for a water heater is 140 degrees.  Turning it down to 120 degrees is enough of a difference to save about thirty dollars a year on your utility bills.  You probably won’t even notice the difference, because you don’t use just hot water when you take a shower anyway.
