Tip of the Day - Eat Differently

Today’s tip from National Public Health Week - Climate Change: Our Health in the Balance is Eat Differently.

Unless, of course, you’ve already been eating local, organic, checking labels, and participating in Meat-free Mondays.  Then, keep eating just as you have been, because for you to eat differently would probably involve a trip to McDonalds.

But, if you need to make more of an effort to make your meals greener, please read the hints and tips on the NPHW website.

And spread the word.  It’s great that the American Public Health Association is taking a stand on climate change, let’s do what we can to support them.

  1. This is a good one! I’ve been trying very hard this year to make changes to my not-so-ideal diet. It’s actually even helped me to save money on my groceries because I’m being much more selective about what I buy, rather than just buying on a whim.

  2. I find too, that when I spend a little more on organic food, I am more careful with it — I plan out my meals better and don’t let it go bad.

Tip of the Day

Soak Up Stains With Salt

I’ve been a little lax about scrubbing the kitchen sink lately. It’s old white porcelain and soaks up stains like nobody’s business. If I keep up with it, a gentle all purpose cleaner is enough to get the stains out, but when I let it go, it’s usually time to bring out the big guns.
