Halloween the Eco-Friendly Way, Part 3
Posted on October 10, 2007 by

Planning a Halloween party? When it comes to indoor decorations, think recycled and reusable.
Instead of vinyl window stickers, make your own decorations (or have your kids make them) out of recycled cardboard, paper bags and scraps of paper, ribbon and fabric.
Use ribbons and yards of tulle instead of streamers. When Halloween is over, you can wind them back on the spool to save for next year.
Collect branches and twigs from outside for a creepy haunted forest look.
Make lanterns out of tin cans for electricity-free mood lighting.
Stuff some old clothes or an old costume and make a scarecrow, or even a gaggle of scarecrows playing poker around your kitchen table.
Instead of plastic or paper plates and cups, go for a creepy haunted house look. Pick up mismatched old china and goblets at thrift stores. After the party, you can donate them, sell them, save them for next year, or break them up to make a mosaic.
Getting creative will save some money and keep your party eco-friendly.
