Tip of the Day - Reuse Holiday Cards
Posted on December 17, 2007 by
Here’s a quick tip for getting another use out of holiday cards.
When people send out cards, they usually don’t write on the side that has a picture on it. Split the card at the seam. You can save the side with the message written on it, and reuse the side with the holiday images. Cut them up to make gift tags, or use them as thank you post cards after the holiday. Or follow the directions here and turn them into ornaments.
But, if you’re lucky enough to get one of the beautiful cards above, plant it in the ground once it thaws. The imbeded seeds will sprout, and the card will decompose.

The sprouting card is a cool idea, but they don’t have a single retailer in the whole state of Tennessee. Dang!
I like the re-use idea, though.
There isn’t one where I live either. Guess next year we’ll have to order ahead. They are cool, aren’t they?
