Tip of the Day - SOS! Save Old Socks

Yesterday, I decided to clean the wood cabinets in our bathroom.  They were in need for a scrubbing, and the old t-shirt rag I was using wasn’t cutting it.

Don’t chuck old gym socks just because they’re holey or missing their mate.  Turn the sock inside out, so the loops are on the outside and slip it over your hand.  This is the perfect dusting cloth for wood surfaces.  It’s gentle, but has enough texture to clean out small cracks and crevasses in the grain of the wood.

I used Method Wood for Good, which gives wood a great shine and makes cleaning stubborn spots easy.  Method sells a microfiber dusting cloth made specifically for cleaning wood, but you don’t need it.  Part of being eco-friendly is only buying what you need.  I’m sure you’ve got an old sock lying around.
