Nature Deva is urging us to send letters to your senators and member of Congress and spread the word about The Kid Safe Chemicals Act.

The Environmental Working Group is supporting The Kid Safe Chemicals Act. The act would make it the responsibility of chemical makers to prove the safety of the chemicals used before the hit the shelves and make their way into our homes.

From EWG:

“In recent years, studies by the Centers for Disease Control and public health advocates have repeatedly found that Americans’ bodies are polluted with hundreds of industrial chemicals. Tests by the Environmental Working Group of fetal cord blood found an average of 200 industrial chemicals in babies before they were even born. No one knows whether these exposures are safe because the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), which has not been reformed in 30 years, does not require chemical manufacturers to prove the safety of chemicals before they are used.”

Nature Deva has a link to EWG’s sample letter and additional information on the subject. Please help spread the word!
