Tip of the Day — Use a Teapot
Posted on January 8, 2008 by

We drew names for holiday gifts this year. My sister-in-law got my name and gave me this amazing basket of fancy teas. (Consumable gifts!) It’s that kind of tea that’s so special and so fancy — there are tiny dried flowers in the bags (which are referred to as infusers) — and so incredibly delicious I don’t want to waste a single drop.
I also want to make sure I brew it right. And on the tin some of the bags were in, it says “Each infuser makes two cups of tea or a small pot,” which got me thinking. Obviously, these infusers are special, but maybe one bag would make a small pot of tea using regular bags too. And you know what, it does. So now, in the morning, instead of making a cup of tea for myself and one for my husband, I use a small ceramic pot, which brews about two cups for each of us with the same amount of tea we’d use for just one cup. It’s always great when you can figure out how to get less with more (and cut waste in half).
If you don’t have a tea pot, look for one that also has an infuser for making loose tea, like the one above from GreenTeaLovers.

Oh I love me some tea! Good call on the two-for-one.
