Tip of the Day - Use Reusable Wrapping

We’ve already talked about using reusable shopping bags as gift wrap, but here are some other reused and/or reusable wrapping options.

Handy with a sewing machine? Sew up some cloth wrapping bags out of old shirts and scraps of fabric. Tie with reusable ribbon or twine. If you don’t have a stash of old clothes and fabric, check out local thrift shops and antique stores. You can sew the bags to fit the gifts you’re giving. And the bags can be reused as gift bags or to organize items in a purse or suitcase.

Not feeling crafty? Lucky Crow has fabric gift bags in patterns that are so festive and cute they’re a gift in themselves. They even offer an assortment of organic fabrics, like the beautiful gift bag set pictured above.

Or check out this gift bag (pictured below) It’s perfect for any occasion, and encourages recipients to reuse it (and possibly even the gift inside).

  1. All my gifts are being wrapped in the content of my paper recycling bin this year. Is it tacky to give a gift wrapped in a cereal box?

  2. Not if you dress it up with a little non-toxic glitter glue. :)
